Ben Nevis Charity Challenge Progress So Far
Ben Nevis Charity Challenge Progress So Far Ben Nevis Charity Challenge: Progress So Far 27 Mar 2014 We are GO GO GO with our training!! Below is a short overview of the team's training regime, preparing to climb Ben Nevis in May to raise money for The Richmond Fellowship. So far we have raised a whopping £570, in just under one month. We are delighted with the progress so far and on target to reach our goal of £2000 by the end of May. If you are interested in supporting this amazing charity please follow the link below for more information on The Richmond Fellowship Scotland and the challenge. Edinburgh The Edinburgh team are getting very active, attending gruelling personal training sessions, tackling various parts of the John Muir Way's East Lothian leg, climbing local hills and hitting the gym to increase leg stregth for the 1,352m climb. The team are also taking part in some innovative training programmes. Jamie and I have been going to Bikram Yoga to help with muscle strength and stability, and Sally has been attending Aerial Assault classes. Even Aidan, who notoriously took a tumble off Arthurâs Seat last summer, has been out and about on the hills! Aberdeen The Aberdeen team are getting active now the days are lighter. Their training includes jogs around Duthie Park and kettle bell classes in the evening. Consultant Laura is committed to her training regime, and recently took the stunning picture of Dunnottar Castle above on a cold and wet afternoon. Glasgow The team in Glasgow have been very active, throwing themselves into a rigorous training regime. From British Military Fitness classes, Metafit and gym sessions, they're all getting into tip top shape in preparation for the first Eden Scott mountain climb in April. Craig is particularly proud of his efforts, taking the stairs rather than using the office lift - every little helps! About the Eden Scott Ben Nevis Challenge Download our flyer for more information. On the 13 April, all members of the team will be climbing Beinn Dorain, in the final leg of training (itâs only 2km shorter than Ben Nevis!) As the UKâs highest peak, Ben Nevis stands at 1,352m and the team are undertaking a rigorous and gruelling training programme before tackling the mighty mountain on the 31 May 2014. All donations and contributions are kindly accepted. All of the money raised will greatly support those with mental health difficulties, learning disabilities, autism, dementia or alcohol and drug related issues.
